Earnings statistics for May - 2012

Selling stock images in May

May was only -6% from the Best Month Ever. Charts below show clearly who's the boss (Shutterstock of course). I still did not upload any images to stock agencies, it makes me angry but I really had no time.

Results since 2009
Because of weird Google updates I had to change, update, disable some sites or  blogs, I had to concentrate on few sites only to decrease the time wasted. Also I found some interesting social networks like chime.in and Empire Avenue (check out that fancy ticker on the sidebar), which work better than identi.ca, Twitter and Facebook in terms of getting more valuable traffic and interaction.

Most important is that Drawing lessons help me to  restore and improve my artistic skills which I hope to use soon  in my normal work.

Working hard for living :)

  1. Interesting results. I've only ever uploaded to Dreamstime and Zazzle but I've noticed that everyone seems to do really well at Shutterstock too.
I've given up Chime.in. I really hate spending too much time on the computer away from doing the actual art. I prefer reading blogs to the social side of things I guess. I'll just stick with Facebook and G+ for now, those two and my blog keep me busy enough ;)
Can't wait to see more of your art from your classes :)

  2. Yes, Shutterstock is the best agency recently for many people.

About chime.in vs FB and G+ - I like it is open to the world and interactive, and FB is closed completely to search engines, waste of time if we try to promote something, that's why I have a FB Fan Page but... G+ is a bit slow also. SO I'm trying those new networks.

Those classes are amazing, I am learning so many things I thought I know already, really funny experience.
I am going to post today a bit of news. Thanks for dropping by :)

  3. SS seems to be the topper among stock sites for me as well but Zazzle comes on top of all others due to volume sales. It's like having EL's at stock sites :)

I haven't uploaded to micro stock in recent months but concentrating more on Zazzle and Alamy. Yes, I got few sales at Alamy with just 300 plus images, mostly graphic designs !!

Joined chime.in as you suggested. Just posting links not images directly. Not bad, good response.

Have fun with your painting.... still waiting to see your portrait!!!!!!!!!

  4. Oh well.. I know I should focus more on Zazzle but it still needs to wait a bit. Alamy is another one waiting, I got accepted and some pictures are already published, but it's a slow process. Good to know You're doing great there.

Yes, chime.in is really a social network and not a ghost town.

Well.. You mean an avatar ? ;> I had to create the second self-portrait, from profile this time, it came out a lot better, but both look like me, so if I would like to put it online I'd have to remove eyes or something ;) Will see!

Avatar is on the way (with me)

  5. What?? Pull out eyes or something else from your portraits since it looks like you!! PLEASE DON'T !! I would be so happy if I could atleast draw a shape of any face !! I 'm rubbish at drawing portraits :(

Well, good you decided to put this cool-lens Avatar instead of an eye-less portrait ;)

  6. ;) A part of those portraits will appear here soon.

And I am sure you know, If you don't try to draw, you won't draw it. That's the same process I am working on now, there are just some strengths and weaknesses to balance.

I got an idea for an interesting short post about that. Thanks for dropping by!
